Funnels, we are talking about a Simple effective Digital Funnel for Lead Generation.
Today’s episode arose from a question from a client: 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁? I asked her, why are you asking about Landing pages? And her answer was that I need a simple funnel to sell my play. So I replied, then what you need is a simple effective lead generation funnel. You want to attract people to buy tickets to your Play.
So I decided to answer my client’s question in this episode, maybe you too have the same question!
See, like my client, you are facing an exciting time. You too are ready to serve your offering to the masses. Yet, for most new business owners, that audience is not yet tuned in and turned on by you or your message.
There is some seduction and foreplay, several dates, it’s a mating dance of peacocks so to speak before the exploration and build-up of relational capital, and that KLT also known as the Know, Like Trust factor.
You get to share your hidden vulnerable, emotional, world in a rapidly subscribed field you realise.
So how do you speed up the process?
By creating an evergreen offer and for that you require a funnel, which requires Landing pages. Which brings us back to the question, how much does a landing page cost?
And my answer is; that it depends on what you want to do with your landing page. For you on a tight budget, WordPress is the most cost-effective platform short term, because it is scalable with no unexpected costs.
You see, with WordPress, a simple yet effective landing page can be created in a bit if you know what you are doing. Still, if you want to focus on building your business, I get it. Most business owners do not want to take the time to learn all that techie stuff like building landing pages.
I can assure you that it is more cost-effective to hire someone who knows what they are doing, in the long run. K-Web Social Designs are the people I recommend for all that time-hungry tech stuff. Including designing, building, maintaining, and updating your landing pages so they keep doing what they say on the package.
Still, below, I’ve listed some estimated prices either going the DIY route or hiring a pro based on desired functionality.
DIY Landing Pages and Funnel Building Solutions:
If you are good with tech stuff, you can build your own landing pages and funnels. And for that here are some DIY tools:
We use Leadpages for our Landing Pages: Includes drag and drop templates for your landing pages, bridge pages, sales pages, or even stand-alone web pages. Plus you get email marketing for about $590 per year
WordPress: you could go the free WordPress way, which we do not recommend. Go pro and for this, you will need a domain name, web hosting, and a security certificate (SSL). Some hosting providers include an SSL and the one we recommend is SiteGround. The minimum first-year costs are typically around £80 – £150.
How much does a landing page cost?
Our base landing page design at only £250 does not include content. Plus, you will need to have a domain name and web hosting. Get started with K-Web Social Designs. We offer everything you need to build SEO optimised webpages and landing pages that do what they say on the package. And now let us talk about a funnel.
An effective Lead generation funnel has the following
- A Clear Target audience who may or may not know about the funnel end goal – we are talking demographics
- It has a front-end Lead magnet or invitation to treat that has value to your target audience to make them give up their email, name, and contact details.
- It may be focused on a pain point or a desire, people respond more to their pain aka what they don’t have and are going through some kind of stress about.
- The front end leads to a Bridge Page others call it a Thank you page. This is where you tell them about your next offer, to upgrade their experience. The bridge page invites them to make a deeper commitment with you while informing them on where they will receive or how to access what they opted into.
- You could end there and use follow-up campaigns to inform your new subscriber/s more about who you are, behind the scenes of your brand and offer them more goodies.
- OR your Bridge page could do that, LEAD them to another offer aka Upserve aka Upsell them to your higher ticket program before leading them to where they find their opted-in item.
- Some people have up to 10 Upsells before they let their follow-up campaigns do the work.
You must track your funnel Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) if you are running ads as well as the Return on Investment (ROI).
Understand that most funnels deliver up to 10% conversion rates and that is with ads. So generic traffic e.g. social media posts deliver way less, sometimes 0% conversion rates.
That’s why you try a variety of ways to fill your funnel e.g. social media content, events like webinars, challenges, email campaigns collaborations, podcasts, blogs, videos, paid ads, and forums, to fill your funnel.
Every funnel has an end goal, yet most people go for the sale from point A and struggle to get it. Why?
Because they haven’t built the Know Like Trust which according to the Daniel Priestly Oversubscribed process is also known as the 7-11-4 rule.
The 7-11-4 rule simply means that people take big decisions after about 7 hours of exposure, 11 interactions, or 4 separate locations or sources of information until a sense of trust is built.
This means collating data across several sources to find how people are signaling interest in your offer.
Thus why Funnels usually have a 10% or less conversion rate. Simply because the person/brand behind the offer hasn’t had enough exposure to the target audience. And their follow-up game is also lacking or nonexistent.
Thus you need at least 7-12 follow-up emails to try and build that 7-11-4 also known as the Know Like trust factor.
By the way, other people’s conversion rates mean sod all, because you have different offers, audience contact points, messages, energy, you know the drill. Ultimately you give people a choice to ask for more via your bridge and follow-up process.
A Simple Money-Making Funnel
Understand that people are inundated with emails, thus, email conversion rates are for most people less than 15%. Thus, you must always ask for a phone number or messenger and follow up there too via SMS. You will increase your conversion rates and sales too. Plus, that too should be an automated follow-up series that ends up in auto unsubscribing that number from your list if no response happens.
And so I usually ask my clients: is your challenge a Funnel or is it Traffic?
Because it’s like a chicken and egg kind of thing, they need each other. No traffic, No optins.
And in this day and age you need to capture the Name, Email, and Phone of your subscriber.
For the latter, you need a conversational optin. Where you give them a reason to share their number before they get to the “Continuing Conversation page” So you cannot go from Zero to say £111 without a conversation that builds the 7-11-4 or KLT factor.
A simple effective lead generation funnel – Is an Asset
So now that you know how much a Landing Page costs as well as the whole process to get it delivering results like gangbusters. What are you waiting for? Unless of course, you wish to work smart and outsource the whole design and build to a professional. Which is what we are always on about…Working smart.
